- Are you a Maverick?
- Are you a Maverick organisation?
- Who are the Mavericks in your organisation?
Maverick organisations reinvent innovation, out-think the competition, redesign the work environment, and forge a profound connection with customers.
Maverick individuals are talented people with the ability to create the future. Frequently charismatic and outspoken, willfully independent and quickly bored, they question the status quo, take risks, blaze a trail and seek impossible challenges. Usually unmanageable in the conventional sense, they are part of the grit in organisational life.
Get Gritty is expert in working with maverick organisations and individuals. Appreciating the brilliance and innovation of the maverick mindset, we are adept in creating buy-in to the development of its concomitant limitations.
Samuel Augustus Maverick was a Texan cattle rancher who refused to brand his cattle. Why? Because unbranded cattle belonged to whoever managed to claim them first. He used his influence to ensure that any unbranded cattle were regarded as his. From 1867, unbranded cattle were known as “mavericks”.
Maverick came to mean a freethinking individual, not branded with orthodoxy.
